From its humble beginnings over 85 years ago as Australia’s first ‘company town’, Mount Isa has grown to become one of the largest and most important industrial powerhouses in the nation.
A vibrant and progressive city of more than 23,500, Mount Isa has become the administrative, commercial, and industrial centre of North West Queensland. It covers an area of over 43,310 sq km (including the township of Camooweal), making it the second largest city in Australia to Kalgoolie-Boulder. The Mount Isa City Council operates tourism and entertainment facilities, supports local industry and commerce, and provides for the needs of all residents and visitors alike.
The Mount Isa City Council is proud to be a partner once again in the Northern Outback Business awards, and wishes all entrants the best of luck.
