Mica Creek Power Station is situated in the heart of Queensland’s North West Mineral Province and, other than some small mine site generators, is the sole source of power to the region. The station supplies energy to meet Mount Isa, Cloncurry and surrounding communities domestic and commercial requirements.
Mica Creek Power Station also supplies energy to the region’s mining industry. Mica Creek is a gas-fired power station comprising 10 units capable of generating up to 325 megawatts (MW) of electricity.
