The Business Innovation Award is open to any business that – through being novel, unique or different – generates a dramatic improvement over current conventional solutions. The originality and strength of an organisation’s ‘big idea’ and / or business model will be the main focus for judging.

Nominations are sought from companies which operate in the Northern Outback and are active corporate citizens, and must demonstrate excellence in their community engagement initiatives.

Companies will be assessed by their contribution to community and their overall reputation as a good corporate citizen which may include:

o Leadership, and commitment to community building
o A commitment to corporate philanthropy and other forms of community support and investment, including but not limited to volunteerism, gifts-in-kind, donation of products and services.
o The active engagement of the leadership of the company in promoting and encouraging a culture of giving and volunteering among employees.
